5 Tech founders - "Mark Zuckerberg" of their Countries


Mark Zuckerberg is an entrepreneurial legend: In 2007, at just 23 years old he becomes one of the youngest billionaires in the world on the back of Facebook.

Here are some young tech prodigies around the world, which were known as Mark Zuckerberg in their countries:-

Mubarak Muyika 

Mubarak Muyika is a Kenyan computer programmer and internet entrepreneur is the CEO of Zagace. He founded Hypercentury technology at age of 16, which he sold to wemps telecom in a six figure deal. Mukiya founded zagace with proceeds from the sale of Hypercentury. In 2012 he received Anzisha prize (award for young enterpreneurs).

Zagace is a provider of business solution dubbed zag apps that have Enterprise resource planning(ERP) capability. It is a company which runs an app store for businesses to access software for accounting, human resource management and marketing.

Daniel EK

Daniel EK is a Swedish entrepreneur and technologist. He Is the Co-founder and CEO of the popular music streaming service Spotify. EK founded his first company at the age of 14 then he sold the company he founded, Advertigo to TradeDoubler. In 2006 EK was briefly the CEO of Torrent, he worked with torrent founder Strigeus but in Dec 7, 2006 Torrent was sold out.                                                            
In 2006, Daniel EK and Martin Lorentzon set up Spotify AB in Stockholm, Sweden.

As of 2017, Daniel Ek estimated his income net worth of over $800 million.

He has over 40 million users worldwide.

He has been awarded the tittle “Billboard Power 100’s New No.1” and is on numerous “wealth charts”.

Pavel Durov

Pavel Valeryevich Durov is a Russian entrepreneur and best known for being the founder of the social networking site VK and later the Telegram Messenger. Durov started VKontakte, later known as VK, in 2006, which was initially influenced by Facebook. During the time VKontakte company grew to value of $3 billion.
 In 2014, Durov was dismissed as a CEO of VK.

Upon leaving Russia, He obtained Saint Kitts and Nevis citizenship with $300 million he creates his next company TELEGRAM which focused on encrypted messaging services

He has been called the Mark zuckerberg of Russia.

In August 2014, Pavel Durov was named the most promising Northern European leader under 30.
Durov, whose wealth is estimated $o.6 billion, has been placed 135th on ranking among the 200 richest businessmen in the country complied by Russian version of the Forbes magazine.

Patrick and John Collison

 Both brothers are Irish entrepreneurs and are best known for co-founded Stripe. Patrick is a CEO of the company.

Stripe is a US technology company operating in over 25 countries, that allows both private individuals and business to accept payments over the the internet. It focus on providing the technical, fraud prevention and banking to operate online payment system.
Stripe cut a deal two years before to power ApplePay, and it’s worth $5 billion.

Brothers have been called the “Mark Zukerbergs of Ireland
In 2016, Stripe was ranked number four on the Fobes magazine cloud 100, a list of companies that engage in cloud computing.
The brothers are now net worth at least $1.1 billion each.

Michael Litt

He Is the Co-Founder and CEO of Vidyard, a video marketing platform helping marketers measures the impact of their video content.

Vidyard is a software company that creates software to host and analyse video performance. It aims to provide customers with the analytics and tools they need to drive business growth through video.
On November 17, 2011, Vidyard announced $1.65 million in seed funding from investors including; Softech VC, YouTube co-founder and Gmail.

Today, Vidyard is ranked as one of Canada’s top start-ups. It has raised nearly $26 million.
